TAM South America Airpass


Concept and Use

TAM SOUTH AMERICA AIRPASS an airpass for foreign citizens residing outside of South America who wish to travel to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela at attractive rates.

To purchase the airpass, the passenger should:

  • Purchase an international ticket for travel commencing outside of South America to destinations in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and/or Venezuela.
  • Request the airpass, which is issued in conjunction with the international ticket.
  • The trip should be made on segments operated by JJ (TAM), PZ (TAM Mercosur) and/or JJ* (code-share flights with TAM Airlines/PZ).

The TAM South America AIRPASS offers from 1200 to 8200 miles to be flown in Economy class.

TAM South America Airpass' fares are calculated based on the mileages flown on all segments, covering a minimum of 2 (two) countries and a maximum of 5 (five) countries, and should not exceed the maximum of 8 (eight) coupons.

Discounts
 
  • Infant: 10% of adult fare
  • Child: No discounts apply – children pay adult fare 

Minimum/Maximum Stay 

  • Minimum:  5 days; counting from departure date of first segment
  • Maximum:  30 days; counting from departure date of first segment

Baggage Allowance 

  • The baggage allowance for domestic segments covered by the TAM South America Airpass is the same as permitted on the international segments.
  • In the event of excess baggage, 0,5% of the "Y" applicable fare for the segment in question if flown within Brazil and 1% of the "Y" applicable fare for the segment in question, if flown in South America (except Brazil), per extra kilo. Check GDS on Exess Baggage Allowance rules.

Validity

  • Ticketing:  on/after March 28th, 2010
  • Travel:  on/after March 28th, 2010

Routings

  • Route must include at least 2 (two) countries within the area covered by the TAM South America Airpass.
  • Maximum of 8 (eight) flight coupons permitted, with a maximum of 5 (five) flight coupons per country.
  • The same segment may not be flown more than once in the same direction, except for connections.
  • The same city may not be used as an origin and/destination more than once, except for connections.
  • Each segment flown corresponds to one coupon.

Stopovers and Connections

  • A maximum of 4 stopovers within Brazil and 2 within other countries will be permitted in addition to the point of origin/destination.
  • If the connection exceeds 24 hours, it will be considered as a stopover.
  • Exception: If a JJ connection between two domestic flights within Brazil exceed 4 hours, it will be considered as a Stopover
  • "Surface" is not counted as a coupon

Booking

  • All segments of the trip must be confirmed before departure.
  • Booking classes are W or V
  • “TAM SAP” must be entered in the "OSI" field in the reservation.

Ticketing

  • Valid for sales and ticketing only outside of South America (purchase and ticketing). 
  • On automated Hahn Air (HR/169) BSP e-ticket
  • Only one TAM South America Airpass may be purchased per passenger in conjunction with the international ticket (including AD/ID or award tickets).
  • The Airpass ticket must be issued separately and must include a cross-reference of the international ticket sold in conjunction with the airpass.
  • Applicable taxes (airport tax, security and additional taxes) must be charged when issuing the airpass.
  • Tickets are non-endorsable/nontransferable.
  • PTA is not permitted.
  • TAM SAP / NON END must appear in the endorsement /restriction box.
  • Fare basis - WSA2PAST or VSA2PAST.
  • Fare constructions and combinations are not permitted.
  • Travel Agent Commission: 0%

Note: The ticketing time-limit and the time-limit automatically generated by the reservation system may be different. The most restrictive date prevails.

Changes

  • Rebooking permitted at any time subject to the payment of USD 100.00 per transaction, on condition that the same fare is maintained.
  • Rerouting is not permitted.

Cancellation / Refund

  • Before departure:  Refundable. Penalty: USD 100.00 
  • After departure: non refundable

TAM Fidelidade Frequent Flyer Program:

Segment flown with the airpass will accumulate 90% of the full points value under the TAM Fidelidade Frequent Flyer Program.
